"Working Families in Wisconsin are Suffering."

SEIU Calls for Quality and Affordable Health Care in Wisconsin

Health HearingThe SEIU Wisconsin State Council has joined with the Wisconsin Health Care Reform Campaign at State Senate hearings across the state to demand quality affordable health care.

SEIU is working both in Wisconsin, and nationally to fix our broken health care system.

“Working families in Wisconsin are suffering,” stated Dian Palmer. “It is unacceptable that insurance companies and large hospital systems make billions, while parents are being forced to choose between necessary medications and food for their children.”

The proposal, The Health Care Action Plan, introduced by registered nurse and State Senator Judy Robson (D-Beloit), will require the Legislature to pass a comprehensive health care plan by January 1, 2008.  This plan must provide health coverage to at least 98% of Wisconsin's residents and cut overall health care costs by 15%.
