SEIU State Council Endorses David Bowen and Marina Dimitrijevic

bowen

SEIU State Council recently took action in endorsing David Bowen, for the 10th Assembly District, and Marina Dimitrijevic, for the 19th Assembly District. Both candidates are running in the democratic primary on August 12th.

Both David Bowen and Marina Dimitrijevic were championship in authoring and getting the Milwaukee County Living Wage ordinance passed that will lift the wages of thousands of Milwaukee County workers and setting a new standard of wages for Milwaukee.

SEIU State Council and the workers recognize the need for experienced leadership in the state capital that pushes forward the fight for a fair and just economy that sees workers earning a living wage to support their family. By endorsing the champion of the Milwaukee County Supervisor David Bowen and Milwaukee County Chairwoman Marina Dimitrijevic, SEIU State Council and the workers are hopefully that their experience and dedication to raising the bar on wages will have the same affect on a statewide level.

SEIU State Council encourages people of the 10th and 19th Assembly Districts to vote for David Bowen and Marina Dimitrijevic respectively on August 12th.

As a friendly reminder that early voting for the City of Milwaukee begins July 28th and goes through August 8th (no weekends)

City Hall, 200 E Wells Street, Room 501

SEIU WI Statement on Nov. 6 Election

“Today’s election sends a clear message to corporations and conservative politicians: Americans will not stand to see their rights taken away and their wellbeing threatened by an extreme right-wing agenda. We are proud and excited to see Barack Obama through another term as president and welcome Tammy Baldwin to the U.S. Senate as we continue to expand health care, add family-supporting jobs, and help our children earn a quality education. Our fight is never over, but the progressive gains we made today in state and federal offices are vital to moving Wisconsin and our nation forward.”
